Rivers LG Service Commission Begins Biometric Verification for Workers and Pensioners

Pensioners and staff across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State are set to undergo a biometric verification exercise aimed at updating records and ensuring accurate data management.

In a statement signed by its Chairman, Israel Amadi, the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission said the verification is part of efforts to maintain a credible database for all council workers and pensioners in the state.

The Commission directed all employees to collect and complete their verification forms—which already contain their names—at their respective local government offices. It added that all completed forms and supporting documents must be submitted on or before Thursday.

Staff are also advised to provide active phone numbers to enable them receive text messages with details of their physical biometric capture.

The Commission expressed appreciation to all workers and pensioners for their cooperation, assuring that the process will be transparent, efficient, and smooth.
