The Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Dr Chidi Lloyd, has placed a ₦3 million bounty on each of the abductors responsible for kidnapping Rivers State University students from their residence at the Emohua campus.
Dr Lloyd also announced a ₦2 million reward for anyone who provides credible information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects. Speaking in an interview with our correspondent, the council chairman cautioned students against living extravagantly and urged them to be mindful of the company they keep.
He said the council had received intelligence on the behaviour of some students, adding that those involved would be investigated. Dr Lloyd also appealed to the university authorities to reconsider the suspension of academic activities at the Emohua campus, assuring that his administration is committed to the safety and security of all students.
