The Rivers State Government says it has resumed full operations and is preparing to commission a series of major projects across the state.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, disclosed this to journalists in Port Harcourt on Monday. He said the projects cut across six Local Government Areas—Obio/Akpor, Port Harcourt City, Ahoada East, Ahoada West, Ogba–Egbema–Ndoni, Ikwerre and Emohua.
Dr. Anabraba also assured residents of their safety, noting that the government is proactively addressing recent security concerns reported in different parts of the country.
According to our correspondent, the projects lined up for commissioning include the extension of the Ahoada–Omoku dualisation, the Egbeda–Omerelu Link Road, and the flag-off of the Airport Bypass and Toll Gate Project. Others are the Ikwerre–Igwuruta–Airport Road, the Greater TAF City Housing Estate, the Ihunwo–Ihuama Ring Road, the Obodhi–Ozochi Road and Bridge, and the Ogbakiri Junction Roundabout to Ogbakiri Waterfront Road.
Also slated for commissioning are the Ahoada Zonal Hospital, the Permanent Secretaries’ Quarters, and the Federal High Court complex.
