A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) C-130 transport aircraft carrying 11 personnel made a precautionary landing in Burkina Faso after reportedly entering the country’s airspace without clearance.
The Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the aircraft diverted to the West African nation due to a “technical concern” and stressed that the landing followed standard procedure. Earlier reports had claimed that Burkinabe authorities detained the crew for alleged airspace violation.
Ejodame dismissed those reports, confirming that all NAF personnel are safe and have been treated with courtesy by the host authorities. He added that arrangements are underway for the mission to continue as planned.
