The enforcement of the evacuation of traders operating around the Rumuosi flyover in Rivers State began on Wednesday, as part of efforts by the Obio/Akpor Local Government Council to restore order and improve traffic flow in the area.
Our correspondent, who visited the scene, observed task force personnel from the council guiding traders to a designated trading space located beneath the flyover.
Some taxi drivers who spoke to our correspondent commended the development, noting that the clearance had significantly eased vehicular movement along the busy route.
However, several market women expressed dissatisfaction with the new arrangement, complaining that the space provided was too small and uncomfortable for their business activities.
The council is expected to continue monitoring compliance as part of its broader effort to maintain sanitation and orderliness within the Rumuosi area.
