The Rivers State Government has repossessed a 65,757-square-metre parcel of land in Igwuruta for the development of a new waste disposal and recycling centre.
The move is part of ongoing efforts under the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) to strengthen waste management and enhance public health across the state. Authorities have directed all individuals or groups with claims or interests in the property to relinquish them immediately.
The government has also published the precise boundaries and coordinates of the site, located in Ikwerre Local Government Area, to guide the public and relevant stakeholders.
