The event wasn’t just entertaining—it was a full-blown cultural time machine, wrapped in humor, music, and stage brilliance. At the heart of it all was when the host, Comedian Angel D Laff, who brought a refreshing twist to the stage. His delivery was more than jokes—it was a creative revival of old-school Port Harcourt radio adverts and jingles from the 80s and 90s. With each punchline, he stirred memories many didn’t even realize they still held, proudly reawakening what it truly means to be a Port Harcourt boy or girl. 
Then came a moment that turned the entire hall into a choir. In a brilliant musical segment, the audience was serenaded through the eras—each Rivers State governor represented with a unique song theme and style, from the days of Diette-Spiff to the present administration of Governor Fubara. It was nostalgic, melodic, and deeply unifying. The crowd didn’t just listen—they sang, danced, and celebrated together, with the live band delivering every note with precision and soul.
The theatre performance elevated the night even further. With rich storytelling, melodious songs, and well-choreographed dance, the stage came alive with the history of Port Harcourt and Rivers State. It was a beautiful blend of art and heritage—each movement and melody telling stories of the old township in a way that felt both personal and powerful.
Veteran actor Sam Dede took the audience on a humorous walk down memory lane, painting vivid pictures of old Port Harcourt. From familiar streets like Station Roundabout, Victoria Street, Niger Street, and Aggrey Road, to iconic Lagos bus stops and also some social spots, his storytelling was not just hilarious but also informative. His mention of groups like the famous “Agaba” factions—999, 007, “kill and bury”—and nightlife spots like Club 67 and Black & White had the audience roaring in nostalgia.
And just when it seemed the night couldn’t get any better, Lady IB stepped on stage. A true icon, her voice still carried the same strength and passion that made her a household name. Age, it seems, has only refined her artistry. Her performance was captivating—a powerful reminder of timeless talent.
The comedians lineup did not disappoint either. MC Mbakara brought extra excitement with cash giveaways, while performers like Danny Spry, Tekena Iyalla, MC JP, GSN, MC Monica, and MC Koboko each delivered outstanding sets. Their timing, originality, and connection with the audience showed a deep understanding of their craft—and the assignment.
