In what appears to be a calculated show of political solidarity, a coalition of elders and key stakeholders in Rivers State has taken steps to reinforce confidence in the current administration by securing the All Progressives Congress (APC) Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the governor.
The initiative, spearheaded by federal lawmaker Awaji-Inombek Abiante, is being framed not as a conventional political maneuver, but as a symbolic gesture of alignment between the leadership and the grassroots. Abiante, who represents the Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, noted that such actions are often used within political circles to signal unity and readiness ahead of future contests.
According to him, the move reflects a broader sentiment among residents who, he claims, are satisfied with the governor’s performance and ongoing development efforts across the state. He emphasized that the decision was driven by a desire to consolidate support early and send a clear message of continuity. 
The development adds a new layer to Rivers’ evolving political landscape, hinting at early positioning and strategic endorsements ahead of the next electoral cycle.
