Nigeria Minister of Foreign Affairs Resigns

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has stepped down from his role in compliance with a directive issued by President Bola Tinubu requiring all political appointees with ambitions for the 2027 elections to resign by March 31.

His decision to exit the cabinet is widely seen as a move tied to growing speculation that he intends to contest the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
