President Bola Tinubu has nominated Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe as the new Minister of Power, pending confirmation by the Senate.
The announcement was made by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, who noted that the nomination follows the resignation of Adebayo Adelabu. Adelabu stepped down from the role to pursue his governorship ambition in Oyo State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Tegbe, an expert in economic and fiscal reforms, brings over three decades of experience spanning both the public and private sectors. He previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he was involved in major policy and governance reform initiatives.
Prior to his nomination, Tegbe held the position of Director General and Global Liaison for the Nigeria-China Strategic Partnership, where he played a key role in strengthening bilateral cooperation between both countries.
