Kwankwaso Defects to ADC, Signals Shift in Nigeria’s Political Landscape

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded a significant political gain following the defection of former New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Kwankwaso officially joined the ADC on Monday in Kano State, marking a notable development ahead of future political alignments.

Reacting to the move, ADC National Chairman David Mark described the defection as a rejection of authoritarian leadership and a boost for democratic values. He noted that Kwankwaso’s entry into the party strengthens citizens’ participation in governance and reflects a growing desire among Nigerians to have a stronger voice in choosing their leaders. Mark made this statement during a visit to Kwankwaso’s residence in Kano.
