JAMB Extends Direct Entry Registration Again, Sets New Deadline for May 22

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced a fresh extension of the registration deadline for the 2026 Direct Entry application exercise, offering candidates more time to complete the process.

Under the new arrangement, prospective applicants can now register until May 22, 2026. The extension is aimed at easing challenges faced by candidates, particularly those still awaiting essential credentials and documentation required for successful registration.

This marks another adjustment by the examination body, which had previously shifted the deadline to May 8 while also approving additional accredited registration centres across the country to improve access and reduce congestion.

Education stakeholders say the move is likely to benefit a significant number of candidates who encountered delays, ensuring broader participation in the admission process.
