President Bola Tinubu has appointed retired Major General Adeyinka Fadewa as Special Adviser on Homeland Security, in a move aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s internal security framework.
The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, through the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Ibrahim Kana. According to the Presidency, the role is designed to enhance coordination among security agencies, improve intelligence gathering, and reinforce collaborative efforts to address emerging threats.
Fadewa brings years of experience in security operations and policy development. He previously worked closely with the Office of the National Security Adviser between 2015 and 2021, and later served as a Senior Research Fellow at the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, where he contributed to national conversations on security strategy and policing reforms. 
President Tinubu expressed confidence in Fadewa’s capacity to deliver on the mandate, urging him to leverage his expertise in supporting the administration’s objective of building a safer and more secure nation.
