The Nigeria Democratic Congress has officially kicked off the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for aspirants ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting the stage for its internal selection process.
In a statement jointly signed by National Chairman Moses Zuwoghe and National Secretary Ikenna Enekweizu, the party announced that the sale of Expression of Interest forms begins Wednesday and will run until May 18.
According to the timetable released, screening and interviews for aspirants are scheduled to take place between May 19 and May 21. The party noted that only candidates who successfully pass the screening stage will be eligible to proceed to the purchase of Nomination forms. 
The party also outlined a detailed fee structure for aspirants across various positions. Presidential hopefuls are expected to pay ₦20 million for the Expression of Interest Form and ₦40 million for the Nomination Form. Governorship aspirants will pay ₦10 million and ₦20 million respectively, while Senate aspirants are to pay ₦3 million and ₦5 million.
For those seeking seats in the House of Representatives, the fees have been set at ₦2 million for the Expression of Interest Form and ₦4 million for the Nomination Form.
The announcement signals the party’s early preparation for the 2027 elections, as it begins the process of identifying and vetting candidates who will represent it at various levels.
