President Bola Tinubu has approved a redeployment involving former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who is now set to serve as Nigeria’s ambassador-designate to South Africa.
Fani-Kayode disclosed that the new posting followed his earlier nomination to Germany, which he requested to change through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to him, the ministry reviewed and approved the request before forwarding it to the President for final endorsement.
The redeployment forms part of a mutual arrangement involving Ita Enang, who was initially assigned to South Africa but opted for Germany instead, resulting in a swap between the two nominees. 
Fani-Kayode also addressed reports suggesting that Germany had rejected his nomination, describing the claims as false and malicious. He stated that he has instructed his legal team and relevant security agencies to take action against those responsible for spreading the allegations.
The development highlights ongoing adjustments within Nigeria’s diplomatic corps as the administration finalizes key foreign postings.
